JM Valeting is one of only a handful of Pro Applicators of Optimum Polymer Technology's Ceramic Coating in the UK. Opti-Coat is a market-leading surface coating, which is applied to your car’s existing bodywork to not only enhance the gloss and look of your vehicle, but to add a durable layer of protection against marring and natural degradation. It provides superior resistance to scratching and chemical etching and provides permanent protection for all factory paints. Once applied it never needs to be reapplied and can be used in conjunction with other waxes and sealants.

Opti-Coat Pro includes a lifetime warranty on new vehicles and a 5-year warranty on used vehicles.

what is opti-coat ceramic coating?

Opti-Coat (Opti-Guard) is a hard wearing, after-market, ceramic clear coat for superior resistance to scratching (9H) and chemical etching from environmental impacts. It provides permanent protection for all factory paints, and can also be applied to exterior glass, metal and hard plastic surfaces.

Opti-Coat is not a wax or sealant like other products on the market. It is a ceramic clear coating very similar to factory type clear coats. A layer of Opti-Coat measures approx. 2 microns in thickness, or about 100 times thicker than your typical wax or sealant. Unlike paint protection sealants such as PTFE, Nano Sealants, GlassPlexin that degrade over time and are easily removed through washing with water or chemicals, Opti-Coat does not degrade and cannot be removed by chemicals such as heavy duty truck wash or even caustic degreasers. It is totally resistant to these chemicals and produces a permanent film that is chemically bonded with the factory paint layers. Opti-Coat is effectively the vehicles new outer clear coat. It is far more resistant to chemical etching than factory clear coats and far more resistant than competing paint protection sealants. The 2 micron layer also provides a thick buffer between any damage and the factory paintwork.

Opti-Coat advantages?

Unlike waxes or sealants, which dissolve and break down over time, Opti-Coat bonds permanently with the factory coating, protecting the surface indefinitely and will not delaminate.

A second skin?

A single layer of Optimum Clear Coating measures approximately 2 microns in thickness. When compared to other paint protection products, Opti-Coat is more than 100 times thicker, with tests showing a wax coating measuring less than 0.02 microns.

This allows Opti-Coat to effectively act like a second skin for your car's bodywork, absorbing damage that would otherwise affect the factory paint layers. Swirl marks and light scratches are not only decreased by the harder Optimum Ceramic Coating, the factory paint is protected and preserved.

Opti-Coat is completely resistant to acidic environmental substances such as bird droppings. Unlike your factory clear coating that can be permanently damaged, Opti-Coat will not etch or dissolve when in contact with these substances, and a clean, glossy clear coating is maintained.

What are the benefits of applying Opti-Coat?

A Superior Clear Coat Film
Opti-Coat will provide the owner with a superior clear coat film and the most advanced paint protection product in the marketplace, that is resistant to chemical etching, and harder than factory clear coatings to reduce swirls and scratches

A Permanent Hydrophobic Surface
Opti-Coat will provide the owner with a permanent hydrophobic surface that is easier to clean, and stays cleaner for longer!

Improved Resale Value
By maintaining a quality finish using the Optimum Clear Coating, you'll also maintain a solid resale value when it comes time to upgrade to a new vehicle.

How it works:

Opti-Coat works by bonding to your factory clear coating and becoming a permanent part of your vehicles paint system.  Prior to application, the technician must analyses the condition of the bodywork and rectify any defects or contamination. On completion, the paintwork is prepared and cleaned using an alcohol based cleaner and ready for coating.

The Optimum Clear Coating is mostly self levelling. Any high spots are manually levelled by the technician to produce an even coat. Once complete, the surface is touch dry within 30 minutes.

The Optimum Clear Coating continues to cross-link and harden. Within 12 hours it is resistant to liquids such as water and can be driven as normal by the client. Opti-Coat will then continue to harden over the next 30 days as it is exposed to heat.
